I am a molecular biologist with a strong interest in metabolism related regulatory relations between small molecules and genes. I did my PhD in Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam where I investigated stress responses of bacteria Escherichia coli based on the analysis of combined global transcript and metabolic readouts.

The primary project on which I work in Sauer group is a regulation of nitrogen metabolism in yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Here I am especially interested in uncovering a potential metabolic signal linking changes in nitrogen availability and quality, TOR kinase activity, and downstream events of cellular response.
