I joined the Sauer lab as a postdoc in August 2010 after doing my PhD at the University of California, San Francisco.
Projects
I work on the large collaborative EU project BaSynthec. This project involves the generation and characterization of strains of Bacillus subtilis with minimized genomes. In collaboration with a number of academic and industrial partners, we will determine the metabolic, proteomic, and transcriptomic fingerprints of these strains, and screen them for industrially useful phenotypes.
Interests
I am interested in a variety of topics related to regulation of gene expression and evolution, as well as industrial applications of metabolic engineering.
