We are continuously seeking for ambitious graduate or post-doctoral students to join our team and contribute novel ideas for our interdisciplinary research. Available projects evolve dynamically depending on relevance of biological questions, scientific progress, and external opportunities. In general, our students possess a sound background in biochemistry, cell biology, biotechnology, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, computer science, or bioinformatics.

Whenever possible we strive to invest in people with potential rather than strict projects. Hence, unsolicited applications from talented candidates are welcome (directly to N. Zamboni). Despite candidate graduate students are typically forwarded to the excellent Zurich Life Science Graduate School, a preliminary contact with matching Principal Investigators is always beneficial to ensure that the best applicants are selected during the review process.

Current openings:

• Postdoctoral position in cancer metabolism: for a project building on the integration of cutting-edge metabolomics and genomics data, we are seeking a candidate with a strong background in computational biology, bioinformatics, or machine learning. Previous experience with analysis of metabolic and regulatory networks is highly welcome. A critical, creative, and pragmatic attitude is a key prerequisite. The candidate is expected to learn how to use our established platforms and perform the experiments in collaboration with Industrial partners. More details on the project can be obtained upon request.
