Dr. Sandra Goetze
Sandra is working as Senior Scientist in the laboratory of Chemical and Systems Biology at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland. She has a strong expertise in mass spectrometry method development, the analysis of protein posttranslational modifications and relative and absolute protein quantitation using parallel reaction monitoring (PRM), selected reaction monitoring (SRM) and data-independent acquisition (DIA). Her current research focusses on the investigation of clinical samples for biomarker discovery and digital biobanking of various diseases. Also, Sandra is working on setting up Top-Down mass spectrometry in the context of host-pathogen interactions.
During her education as Biotechnologist at the Technical University Braunschweig and at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, Braunschweig, Germany, Sandra received an extensive training in the technical application of biological systems, chemistry and molecular biology. After her studies Sandra worked as a Postdoc at the University of Amsterdam where she was focusing on 3D chromatin structure and epigenetic regulation. She continued her studies at the University of Zurich as an independent Marie-Heim-Voegtlin fellow before she started her career at the ETH.
