Dr. Elad Noor
I believe that the way basic physical laws shape natural biological phenomena is an interesting topic that might still hold some great discoveries. My previous studies focused on the constraints imposed by the laws of thermodynamics and how they affect the structure of natural metabolic networks, with applications in metabolic engineering.
I joined the Sauer lab in August 2014, for my postdoctoral research on the thermodynamic aspect of substrate channeling, the phenomenon of two different enzymes passing an intermediate metabolite between them directly, without having it diffuse freely in the cytoplasm.
Before coming to the ETH, I obtained my MSc under the supervision of Prof. Uri Alon (2009) and my PhD working with Prof. Ron Milo (2014), both at the Weizmann Institute in Israel.
