Project Overview

To dissect the genetic basis of starvation responses, we take a systems genetics approach using a set of inbred Drosophila lines (the Drosophila Genetic Reference Panel, DGRP). Differences in starvation sensitivities at larval stages will be associated with molecular polymorphisms to identify genetic loci responsible for the variation in this trait. We are especially interested in variations related to autophagy and TOR signaling as executors of starvation responses.
